Research abstract

A&B Foundry proposes to address a critical challenge faced by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and DoD: the availability of non-procurable obsolescent parts, specifically for the B-2 bomber which is an aircraft essential to national security and classified under the DX-rated program. (Please see Memorandum: “Updated DX-Rated Program Listing” in Supporting Documents) The B-2 bomber, a cornerstone of strategic air capabilities, requires sustained support to maintain operational readiness. However, the aging of the fleet and the obsolescence of various components have led to significant difficulties in sourcing necessary parts, which are no longer supported by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), or the OEM is not interested in supporting one off parts.
