Research abstract

Introducing the Enhanced Thermo-Scatter System (ETSS), a groundbreaking innovation that embodies the joint spirit and is set to revolutionize the landscape of Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2). In the dynamic and multifaceted JADC2 battlespace, seamless communication and data-sharing across all branches of the military are paramount, and ETSS stands as a beacon of progress. ETSS has been meticulously designed to address the complex communication needs of JADC2, offering a comprehensive suite of capabilities that are fully compatible with various military branches. One of its standout features is the innovative High-Frequency (HF) Pump, which interacts with the thermosphere to create a reflective layer for HF, Very-High Frequency (VHF), and Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) communication signals. This elevation of the reflective layer is pivotal in bridging vast distances, a feat invaluable to the wide-reaching, nimble operations characteristic of JADC2, where Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps forces work together seamlessly. The heart of ETSS, the HF Pump, enables robust communication links and consistent full data packet transfers, ensuring that the joint nature of JADC2 remains uninterrupted. Its high-speed, omni-directional coverage extends up to 2000 miles, ensuring ultra-resilient over-the-horizon communications and providing all military branches with a dependable means of coordination. This remarkable range significantly reduces the need for extensive infrastructure, aligning perfectly with JADC2's objectives of flexibility and adaptability in a highly contested and dynamic environment. The joint compatibility of ETSS ensures that it can be easily integrated into the communication systems of all branches, strengthening coordination and cooperation across the entire JADC2 battlespace. In the JADC2 battlespace, where mission success is non-negotiable and joint operations are the cornerstone, the Enhanced Thermo-Scatter System (ETSS) is the linchpin. ETSS's capabilities are set to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of command and control, data sharing, and joint coordination, fostering a more integrated and effective approach to modern warfare across all branches of the military.
