Research abstract

The Spaceport Data Fusion Initiative (SDFI), spearheaded by Beast Code in collaboration with Blue Halo, Clarity Business Solutions, and MongoDB, presents a transformative proposal aimed at revolutionizing the United States Space Force's (USSF) operational data integration and management capabilities. This initiative proposes the development and implementation of an Operational Data Layer (ODL), designed to seamlessly integrate disparate data sources across legacy systems (NIPR) and modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), thereby enhancing situational awareness, operational efficiency, and decision-making processes within the USSF. Targeting the complex and fragmented data ecosystem currently hindering USSF's spaceport operations, SDFI introduces a unified, secure, and near-real-time data framework, ensuring comprehensive accessibility to mission-critical information.  The SDFI strategy is set to deliver immediate progress within 90 days through the integration of a pilot dataset (StarGate and Beast Core) into the ODL, showcasing the project's viability and de-risking government investments in data integration projects. By maintaining data integrity and accessibility without the need for migration, SDFI emphasizes a future-ready approach that accommodates the rapid evolution of space operations. Furthermore, the initiative's focus on application agnosticism ensures that the ODL serves as a robust backbone for data-driven operations, irrespective of the specific applications in use or added in the future.   Incorporating the connection of StarGate and Beast Core for the purposes of a Common Operational Picture (COP) and emphasizing its bicoastal solution for Space Launch Delta 30 (SLD 30) and Space Launch Delta 45 (SLD 45) enriches the strategic integration of these systems.  With a commitment to reducing operational coordination time and enhancing the USSF's capacity to meet future demands, SDFI aligns with the strategic objectives of SSC and the PEO AATS, supporting the vision of a digitally integrated Space Force. This proposal not only addresses the immediate needs of the USSF but also lays the groundwork for a scalable, adaptable data infrastructure capable of supporting the dynamic requirements of spaceport operations in the pursuit of national space superiority.
