Research abstract

RAEKORĺs evaporative cooling technology is the most cost effective, energy efficient, and portable method to provide localized, tactical cooling to improve human performance and decrease heat injuries in temperate to hot work environments. RAEKORĺs patented evaporative cooling technology uses a proprietary water evaporation mechanism and form factor to create a single-person-carry, ultra-compact and portable cooling system that provides 18k-36k BTU (1.5-3 tons) of cooling capabilities while consuming less than 500 watts of power. This allows for extremely efficient cooling of work areas to increase human performance where cooling was not previously feasible or practical with refrigerant based ECUs due to their size, weight, or power ratings. Additionally, at 15% the size and 20% the weight of traditional rigid-body, Ĺportableĺ evaporative coolers, RAEKORĺs approach provides a light-weight, collapsible, ôflat packö evaporative cooler for a multitude of situations not previously suitable for using traditional evaporative coolers. Evaporative cooling also has the strategic benefit of significantly decreasing Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 85% of carbon dioxide and 100% of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) caused byárefrigerant based A/C units, upholding the recently congressionally mandated Department of DefenseĹs (DoD) and the Air Forceĺs (DAF) Climate Action Plans for a sustainable future.
