Research abstract

The 106 RQW/LRS has a national Defense-related mission need in the area of Logistics & Supply Chain Visibility and Resilience, specifically that HH-60G and HC-130J aircraft parts allocated to Warehouses and Aircraft Mobility Readiness Spares Package (MRSP) are not ideally located across the supply chain to affect aircraft availability positively. This need extends across other Mission Design Series, such as the KC-135 Platform.á From an end-to-end perspective, this disconnect leads to decreased aircraft availability caused by delayed lead times and supply chain bottlenecks. It is estimated that an additional 10% aircraft availability can be added to the entire USAF capacity, making this resolution the single biggest impact to DAF Operational Imperative #7: Readiness of DAF to transition to a wartime posture against a peer competitor. Technology development under this effort could contribute to future mission need fulfillment.á Leadership expects an Artificial intelligence System to sustain a 6-12 months increase in HH-60G and HC-130J aircraft availability after priority part placement takes place into warehouses and kits by 10 to 20 percent. If time and access permits, results will be replicated within the KC-135 platform.á From a Strategic Capabilities Perspective, this need enhances Global Strike, Rapid Global Strike, and Responsibilities to organize, train, and equip the force with Applied AI.
