Research abstract

SI2 Technologies, Inc. (SI2) proposes to manufacture high temperature frequency selective surface (FSS) using additive manufacturing for the protection of Air Force attritable assets. This proposed approach will advance the capability and reduce the cost of FSS production for a wide array of defense and other commercial applications. Leveraging SI2ĺs extensive additive manufacturing experience, SI2ĺs additive manufactured FSS will be designed for integration with conventional attritable assets.á Based on previous work, SI2 will design the FSS unit cell, incorporate high temperature materials, and demonstrate performance on high temperature substrates. These prototypes will be tested to survive in a relevant environment.á With support from its partners, SI2 will identify opportunities to transition its printed technology to the DoD for application to specific attritable platforms and other Governmental needs.
