Research abstract

The C-VIS (Color Vision Integrated SWIR) system is an advanced dual-band imaging solution designed to enhance situational awareness, navigation, and target identification for Navy and DoD applications. By integrating visible (VIS) and short-wave infrared (SWIR) imaging into a single, co-bore-sighted system, C-VIS provides superior performance in low-light, foggy, and obscured environments.ÝÝThe proposed approach eliminates the need for custom sensor development, significantly reducing development time, cost, and technical risks. The proposed hardware selectively transmits visible and infrared light to the sensor, enabling accurate color and infrared imaging without compromising resolution. Advanced firmware and processing algorithms ensure high-quality image fusion, maintaining performance across a variety of operational conditions.ÝC-VIS is designed with a modular architecture that allows for easy integration with existing Navy platforms, including submarine periscopes, unmanned systems, and surface vessels. The system's versatility extends beyond military applications to include border security, environmental monitoring, autonomous navigation, and industrial inspection, highlighting its broad commercialization potential.
