Research abstract

RadiaBeam Technologies will develop a dual-band compact camera array module that will combine VIS-color and SWIR imaging on a single device platform. The innovative but simple design will implement a 4-filter (R-G-B-NIR) continuously rotating filter wheel synchronized with the frame rate acquisition of an Indium-Gallium-Arsenic (InGaAs) wide band 2080 x 1544 detector array of 3.45 micrometer pixels spanning from 400 nm up to 1800 nm. The device will be capable of real time 30 Hz imaging producing a continuous flow or VIS-color, SWIR or combined images. Phase I will focus on the study and design of the instrument and the definition of a Phase II plan for a prototype. Phase I option will test the 4-filters imaging technique in a small-scale laboratory prototype with a commercial camera and low-speed spinning filter wheel assembly.
