Research abstract

ADA Technologies' Safe Li-Ion™ battery technology provides a highly adaptable solution to meet the Army’s high-voltage battery needs, particularly for tactical vehicle-mounted electromagnetic (EM) weapons. This innovative, modular battery system leverages Safe Li-Ion™ chemistry, which excels in high-power, high-rate discharge environments, making it an ideal choice for demanding military applications. ADA’s modular battery approach supports flexible configurations, enabling the connection of multiple battery packs to achieve high system voltages required for vehicle-mounted counter-unmanned aerial system (c-UAS) operations and other EM weapon systems. Safe Li-Ion™ technology offers significant safety advantages, including the ability to be safely stored and transported under extreme conditions without significant performance degradation. The chemistry's resilience across a wide operational temperature range further enhances its reliability in diverse field environments. In addition to powering EM weapons, ADA’s Safe Li-Ion™ technology directly supports Army operations by providing critical power solutions for a variety of systems, including communications equipment, sensors, digital engine control units for tanks, BB2590 and 6T batteries as well as automated fire suppression systems for Army ground vehicles. Through this modular battery approach powered by our versatile battery chemistry, ADA is driving improvements in operational readiness, safety, and long-term performance.
